Gateway 500s XP Home Edition Recovery Partition Re-Image CDs

These Gateway 500s PC Recovery Partition Re-Image CDs are bootable and will work even if the Gateway 500s Hard Drive has been replaced.

These CDs simply recreates an image of the original Gateway 500s Hard Drive Windows XP Home Edition Recovery facility and therefore allows you to fully reinstall your Gateway 500s to its original factory settings (even if you have fitted a new hard disk drive) or if you have a virus in the Gateway 500s Recovery partition.

Once installed, you may need to load additional Gateway 500s PC drivers. These are supplied on Gateway 500s Re-image CD 2 (included).

Please note; The Gateway 500s was supplied with different versions of Windows XP. These CDs are specifically designed to work with the XP Home Edition version of the Gateway 500s PC. They require you to enter the Windows license (Product Key) from the Product  Key label which is attached to the computer case and will only work with the XP Home Edition Licence.

If your Gateway 500s PC computer has been attacked by a virus, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to wipe your current installation and re-install from your Gateway 500s Recovery CDs or Gateway 500s Recovery Partition, and then install quality anti virus - anti spyware programs.

Please note; some viruses can exist in the Recovery Partition or can create their own partition.

If your Gateway 500s PC is running slowly, it could be due to a virus or Viruses. The computer could also be infected with spyware, malware or adware. If this is the case; repairing the current Windows XP installation will not help because the repair process will not remove infections. Re-installing Windows will wipe the hard drive and should also remove - delete viruses, malware, spyware or Adware. It will also remove programs & utilities which may no longer be required.

Reinstalling almost always allows the computer to "run faster" and the user can re-install the programs that they actually want & use.

If your computer has a faulty hard disk drive (eg; if the hard drive cannot be "seen" by the computer, if it has bad sectors, bad blocks or is making a clicking or loud whirling noise), the best course of action is usually to completely replace the hard drive and restore Windows XP with the original software from your Gateway 500s Recovery CD.

This process will involve replacing the hard drive and then placing the  Gateway 500s Recovery CDs in the CD ROM or CDs ROM drive and re-booting the system. The computer should then boot from the Gateway 500s Recovery CDs and this will then return the computer to its original state (as new).
