The HP DV9900 Recovery Partition Re-Image DVDs are bootable and will work even if the HP DV9900 Hard Drive has been replaced.
This HP DV9900 Boot DVDs simply recreates an image of the original HP DV9900 Hard Drive Windows Vista Recovery facility and therefore allows you to reinstall your HP DV9900 to its original factory settings (even if you have fitted a new hard disk drive) or if you have a virus in the HP DV9900 Recovery partition.

If your HP DV9900 computer has been attacked by a virus, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to wipe your current installation and re-install from your HP DV9900 Recovery DVDs and then install quality anti virus - anti spyware programs.
Please note; some viruses can exist in the Recovery Partition or can create their own partition.
If your HP DV9900 is running slowly, it could be due to a virus or Viruses. The computer could also be infected with spyware, malware or adware. If this is the case; repairing the current Windows Vista installation will not help because the repair process will not remove infections. Re-installing Windows will wipe the hard drive and should also remove - delete viruses, malware, spyware or Adware. It will also remove programs & utilities which may no longer be required.
