The Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery CDs & Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVDs are specifically designed for your Toshiba Tecra laptop computer, usually contain an image of what was on the laptop hard drive when it was first bought. They allow you to return the machine to its original state (as new). If your Toshiba Tecra has been attacked by a virus, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to re-install Windows from your Toshiba Tecra Recovery CDs or  Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD & then install quality anti virus & anti spyware programs .

If your Toshiba Tecra has a faulty hard disk drive (eg; if the laptop hard drive cannot be "seen" by the computer, if it has bad sectors, bad blocks or is making a clicking or loud whirling noise), the best course of action is usually to completely replace the hard drive & Restore Windows & the original software from your Toshiba Tecra Recovery CD or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD. This process will usually involve replacing the hard drive & then placing the Toshiba Recovery CDs or Toshiba Windows XP Recovery DVD in the CD ROM or DVD ROM drive & re-booting the system. The laptop should then boot from the Toshiba Tecra Recovery CDs or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD & this will then return the laptop to its original state (as new).

Please note; with some Toshiba Tecra laptops, you will need to tap the "c" key as the system is restarting.

If your original Toshiba Tecra Windows installation CDs / Toshiba Tecra hard drive data Recovery CDs are damaged (scratched, cracked etc), they should not be used as this can cause problems installing Windows, or Windows may appear to install successfully but you will experience difficulties at a later date. The Toshiba Tecra Recovery CDs or Toshiba Tecra Windows XP Recovery DVD will need to be replaced.
