Major computer manufacturers usually ship their UK computers with one or more Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 Recovery CDs (also known as hard drive Recovery CDs, hard drive Restore CDs or hard drive data Restore CDs). Other manufacturers supply the Recovery data on a special part of the hard drive which is commonly known as the Recovery partition.

The Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 Recovery CDs are specifically designed for your UK Spec PC or laptop, usually contain an image of what was on the PC or laptop hard drive when it was first bought, & they allow you to return the PC or laptop to its original state (as new).

The Windows Computer Recovery CDs are also sometimes referred to as Windows XP reinstallation CDs because they completely erase the contents of your hard drive and then re-install your operating system (Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7). However, they differ from normal Windows installation disks in that they usually Restore all programs which were originally installed on the hard drive when the PC or laptop was first purchased (any additional programs or files which were not originally installed will be overwritten).

This is particularly useful if the machine has been attacked by a virus, if the original hard drive has developed a fault, or if you simply wish to replace or upgrade the hard drive, and need to re-install your original software.

If your computer has been attacked by a virus which is still causing problems, or worse still; is infected with a virus which you cannot remove, the best course of action is often to completely erase the hard drive & re-install Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 from your Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Recovery CDs - hard drive data Recovery CDs. Downloaded Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Restore CDs, Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Recovery CDs or Downloaded Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Reinstallation CDs, are supplied either as compressed nrg (Nero) files which contain complete images of the CDs, or as compressed folders which extract as complete folders containing drivers etc for specific machines.

Nero burning software can be downloaded from the Nero web site (links supplied with the download instructions).

We will provide the download option as & when possible. Customers who wish to download images of Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Recovery CDs,  Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Restore CDs or Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 Reinstallation CDs which are not advertised as being available can request that we supply the correct CDs for their system.
